On 10th March 2015, armed cattle rustlers attacked residents of Mpagas area in Barsaloi location of Samburu County. The bandits made away with 211 cattle and 19 donkeys.

This has further intensified the famine crisis in the region. Without the donkeys, residents are now finding it impossible to fetch water from their nearest source which is about 20 Kilometers away.

As a result, herders have congregated in Nalicho, Suyan, Marti and Mbukoi areas while heavily armed in preparation for any future attacks.

Despite calls for assistance from the community, the regime has done nothing to mitigate the situation, or assist the communities.  An InformAction team is in the area and continues to monitor the situation.
